BRAVERY
Wednesday, February 28th, 2007For the longest time
I thought bravery was the absence of fear
the headlong rush
into overwhelming odds
against overwhelming foes
I thought bravery was
the eternity of hope
to eternally prevail
against insurmountable darkness
to accept the unseen
all the while I forgot
that there is bravery
in a falling leaf
in a fallen seed
to be stricken with heat
and battered with rain
to be reborn again
maybe, there is bravery
in surrender
